A process which removes particles from suspension in water. Three types of filtration: mechanical, biological, and chemical.
reverse osmosis
A process by which water pressure pushes tap water through a semipermeable membrane to remove impurities from the water. This process makes desalination (the removal of salt from seawater) possible.
ULTRAVIOLET PURIFICATION
Water is run through a stainless steel chamber containing a UV lamp. As the water flows past the lamp, illness-causing microorganisms obtain a lethal dose of UV light that attacks their DNA and eliminates their ability to reproduce. Harmful bacteria and viruses are then deactivated making it safe for use.
WATER SOFTENERS
Filtration system that removes high concentrations of calcium and magnesium that cause hard water. Allows soft water to then flow through the plumbing.
